We will explore the history and archaeology of Baghdad during the age of the Abbasid Caliphate, a period that is often referred to as a “Golden Age” and is famous for inspiring tales in One Thousand and One Nights. We will hear the perspectives of travelers, writers, scientists, musicians, culinary experts, astrologers, merchants, artists, and craftworkers who left enduring legacies in Baghdad that continue to this day.
